Hughes High School/Hughes STEM H.S. is one of the two oldest schools in Cincinnati Public Schools. We are over 150 years old and continue to be one of the top high schools in Southwest Ohio. We are all very proud to be a part of such an excellent learning tradition and to be current leaders of our communities.

Carlos Thompkins
President
Carlos graduated from Hughes in 1993 and continued his education at the University of Toledo where he received a degree in Child Psychology. Carlos is a member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc and he served 11 years in the U.S. Navy. His Professional Career Carlos is the Chef De Cuisine for the PGA Tour Inc. TPC Rivers Bend, also operating his own business Best Travel Company and Serves as an Executive with BTC ENT/ Capital Structure. He loves spending time with his 4 children and when he has down time he enjoys cooking, traveling and creating opportunities for Hughes Alumni.
Why did you choose to serve as a Hughes Alumni Board Trustee?

Tonjarene Levette Bronson
Vice President
Tonjarene is a member of the Hughes Class of 1993. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Education and a Masters of Education in Education Administration. She is currently an educator in the Cincinnati Area. She loves to travel, learn new things and spend plenty of time with her 2 Sons. Tonjarene is passionate about giving back and helping others in their time of need. She is an advocate for education and ensuring that students learn as much as they can to continue their education.

Erica Ward
Treasurer
Erica, commonly known as Concrete Penny, is a graduate of the class of 1988. Erica has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development and she is a Licensed Cement Mason! She is currently a Supervisor for the City of Cincinnati Public Service. The future of Hughes students means a lot to her and that is part of the reason why she decided to become a board member. Erica enjoys taking cruises and traveling to different destinations! She devotes a lot of her time to her 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
